GLB: How long have you lived in your space?
Jordan: 15 years. It’s been fascinating to see the area transform. It used to feel like a ghost town at night - now there’s an Apple Store across the street and an Ace Hotel and a Whole Foods two blocks away.
GLB: What industry are you in?
Jordan: I’m a tv and film director. I started out in standup comedy and then moved over to writing comedy for tv before I started directing.
GLB: What makes this space “home?”
Jordan: The pool on the roof is amazing. And all of the people in the building are very friendly and many have been here for a long time. There’s also a great place on the ground floor called ilCaffè - it’s always nice to see people hanging out there when I come home. The Swedish owner of the place, a man named Michael, was very instrumental in cultivating the fun vibe in and around the building.
GLB: What are 3 things in your apartment that you can’t live without?
Jordan: My refrigerator (where I store 35mm film because I’m insane), my bathtub and my phone (so I can play chess).
GLB: What room do you spend the most time in? Why?
Jordan: I spend the most time in the living room as I like to be close to natural light.
GLB: Favorite neighborhood spots?
Jordan: The Alamo Drafthouse (I’m there probably twice a week), ilCaffè, The Ace Hotel Theatre and rooftop bar, Verve Coffee in The Arts District and The Apple Store (I highly recommend checking out the amazing restoration that Apple did to the Tower Theatre. It’s beautiful.)
GLB: Any quirky facts about your home?
Jordan: Johnny Depp used to live in a penthouse upstairs and it was surreal to see the building and some of the staff in the trial.
GLB: Anything else you want to share about you or your home?
Jordan: Just that I’m a huge fan of A B O D E as well as the GLB Properties Instagram.
