Time Lived In: 3 years
GLB: What do you do? Or what industry are you in?
Samantha: I'm a sales rep for an Elevator Interiors company. So just like my home, we take older elevators and create new interiors to revive their space!
GLB: What makes this space “home?”
Samantha: I have created little spaces for myself in each room that are my sections of comfort. I walk in after a long day and there are so many things to look at and enjoy. It makes my space inviting without being overwhelming.
GLB: What are 3 things in your home that you can’t live without?
Samantha: My pink boucle reading chair and all my books, the fountain outside that I can hear going all day while I sit at my desk and work, and my well loved couch.
GLB: What room do you spend the most time in? Why?
Samantha: The living room is my gathering room for the house. Whether we're eating, watching movies, doing a tarot reading it's the center of my home. Especially now that I have my hearth set up with candles - it's where everyone is drawn to. Its so peaceful during the day and really welcomes people in.
GLB: What are three words to describe your personal/interior style?
Samantha: Quirky vintage with a touch of rock and roll
GLB: What do you love about living in a historic building?
Samantha: The character and the history here are by far my favorite parts. You can't walk into a building like this and not wonder about who lived here in the past and what they got up to. Our building was completed in the 1930's and LA has changed so much since then. If these walls could talk... It really helps that everyone in my small building loves their unique space and really cares for their home. It creates such a nice sense of community here.
GLB: What do you love about living in Los Angeles?
Samantha: Two major things - the melting pot of people and cultures, and the music scene. There's always a new restaurant and cuisine to check out and then right from there I can head to my favorite small venue and see a show.
GLB: What are your favorite LA spots?
Samantha: Dinner at Spartina, long walks through Beachwood Canyon stairs, shopping and happy hour in Franklin Village, dive bar Thirsty Crow
GLB: Anything else you’d like to share?
Samantha: My home is curated with color and and fun vintage pieces. I love hunting for treasures - like lamps, pyrex and furniture. It adds so much quick character to my home and is really such a fun way to connect to my home. My next thrift search is a colorful couch!
